We are a social action enrichment school. This means we use a social justice lens for our enrichment programming which encourages students to take action on issues facing our community. As early adolescents grow, they develop a focus on equity and justice and a desire to serve, this is confirmed by many developmental psychologists and confirmed by what we see in our scholars each day. Our programming is designed with this developmental knowledge in mind. We give our scholars the opportunity to develop their own interests and talents through our SEM programming and teach them to use these passions to improve their community.
