National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Selection Criteria

Membership in the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a middle school student! The Ida B. Wells MS chapter will work hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community.

The selection criteria for the National Junior Honor Society are based on the pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character. After Term 2 report cards have been distributed, students in the 7th and 8th grades will be invited to apply for membership in the NJHS if they fulfill the following requirements:

    • GPA requirement of a 3.0 or better for the current school year
    • Excellent record of behavior in and outside of school
